Nizhny Novgorod resident fined for swearing at police

In early July, the Kulebaki City Court ruled on an administrative offense case against a resident of Nizhny Novgorod Region. The man was fined 700 rubles (about $8) for obscene language directed at police officers.

The incident occurred around noon at a Lukoil gas station. The motorist was waiting in line for a pump, but police officers drove up to it in a service vehicle. The indignant driver began cursing loudly, then got out of his car and continued using profanity.

Law enforcement officers detained the offender and took him to the station, where they filed a report. It turned out that he had previously been held liable for petty hooliganism. In court, the Nizhny Novgorod resident pleaded guilty and apologized to the police, which was taken into account when imposing the sentence.

It is worth noting that not only police officers but also other emergency services, as well as disabled people and utility services, have the right to priority fueling. Last week, an interactive map was launched in the Nizhny Novgorod Region that allows real-time tracking of fuel availability and queues at gas stations.
