Neighbor attacks one-year-old girl with dog leash in Yekaterinburg

The incident occurred in Yekaterinburg on Molotoboytsev Street as a family with their eight-year-old son and one-year-old daughter were returning from a playground.

According to the victims, a neighbor they encountered with a dog suddenly began shouting obscenities and striking with a leash.

«First she was yelling obscenities, then she started hitting my husband, but for some reason she was hitting our daughter, even though my husband tried to turn the child away from her, but she struck her in the face and head,» said the mother of the injured girl. «I was also worried that the dachshund would attack our son. He is very afraid of dogs. He sat down in the snow and curled up into a ball, he was so scared.»

The parents claim that this woman constantly harasses them and demands that they move out of the apartment where they have lived for 12 years.

«The reason for the attack is that my husband looks like a »churka« (a derogatory term for a person from the Caucasus). And she wants us to move out. Meanwhile, my husband is Russian, his name is Nikita, and we own the apartment,» said the victim, Yekaterina. «Before this, she attacked another family, saying there that the man was a drug dealer. Then she switched to us.»

Doctors at the 9th Hospital recorded soft tissue swelling in the girl. The parents filed a report with the police.

The press group of the Yekaterinburg police department stated:

«The report was accepted at Police Department No. 13. The woman»s identity has been established. Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident. Based on the results of the inquiry, a justified decision will be made.«

Conflicts between neighbors are not uncommon. For example, in the city of Rezh (Sverdlovsk Oblast), a woman beat a girl who was holding an infant in her arms.
