Namesake of Krasnoyarsk Necrophile Dies; Was in SVO Missing Persons Groups

A man with the same full name as Krasnoyarsk resident Sergei Pushnin, who was convicted of murdering three women, has died. This information was published in the Russian registry of inheritance cases, discovered by NGS24.RU.

According to the registry, Sergei Pushnin died on November 14, 2024. His surname, first name, patronymic, and date of birth match those of the serial killer and rapist who was sentenced in 2010 to 25 years for murdering three women and one attempted murder.

Pushnin committed the first two murders in 1999 in the Sovetsky District of Krasnoyarsk. But at that time, he was not among the suspects. In 2000, Sergei Pushnin was arrested and sent to prison for other crimes — specifically, robbery and theft.

In 2008, he was released, and that summer he killed a third woman in the same Sovetsky District. In September, Pushnin attacked another resident of Krasnoyarsk, but she survived. Later, the woman identified Pushnin, and he was arrested. And in 2009, it was possible to prove his involvement in the three murders in 1999 and 2008. The maniac strangled his victims with a rope; it was also reported that he raped the bodies after their death, for which the media dubbed him the «Krasnoyarsk necrophile».

In July 2010, the court sentenced the then 42-year-old Sergei Pushnin to 25 years in prison.

In December 2024 and January 2025, the public group «Search for Comrades and Those Missing in the SVO» published posts about the disappearance of Sergei Pushnin. It was reported that he was last in contact on November 9, 2024, and from November 14, he was listed as missing.

Previously, NGS24.RU wrote that a man with the same full name as former deputy from Taseyevo, who was convicted of murdering his wife in 2023, Alexander Khakonov, died. The deputy went to the SVO in June 2023.
