Murmansk ex-inspector accused of accessing GIBDD data illegally

A former traffic police inspector is accused of illegally accessing and sharing information from the state database.

In Apatity, a criminal case has been initiated and is under investigation against a former state traffic safety inspector with the Regional Examination Department of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (REO OGIBDD). He is suspected of unauthorized access to computer data.

According to the investigation, in August 2022, the ex-inspector accessed the GIBDD database, obtained information about a vehicle and its owner, and then passed it on to a third party.

«The crime was detected and prevented by an investigator in cooperation with employees of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) for the Murmansk region,» the regional Investigative Committee reported.

The police clarified that the employee is currently not serving in the MVD.

Recall, in Murmansk, a 39-year-old man was detained — he carried out a robbery attack in a grocery store on Heroes of Severomorsk Avenue.
