Loud bang in Krasnodar terrifying, residents say

At around 5 a.m. on February 5, residents of Krasnodar heard a loud rumble, after which a powerful sound rang out, resembling an explosion. It rolled across the entire city. Social media immediately filled with hundreds of messages from concerned residents, many of whom even woke up.

There has been no official comment from authorities yet. Here is what Krasnodar residents are saying about the loud sound:

— «First time it was so loud that I went to the hallway with my child.»

— «I heard it even with the windows closed and music playing.»

— «At 5:00 a.m. it was very loud. My son jumped up, and he«s usually impossible to wake up even with a tank.»

— «Not just heard it, it was terribly loud and scary.»

— «The fifth floor under the roof was shaking.»

— «The walls even trembled, there was a flash in the sky, it even lit up the yard.»

— «I feel very sorry for those who have to go to work or school in the morning, it«s unlikely they»ll be able to fall asleep again.»

— «I«ve never heard such a scary sound before, it was atypical, let»s say.»

For reference, a drone threat is active in the region. Krasnodar airport was closed on the afternoon of February 4, then again at around 6:00 p.m. the same day.
