In the afternoon at 12:33 in the city of Volzhsky, near the Yuzhny settlement, a traffic accident occurred. A 26-year-old driver of a black VAZ-2111 station wagon, opposite light pole No. 36 on Lenin Avenue, struck a 26-year-old man conducting road work, as well as a parked GAZ truck.
«According to preliminary information, at 12:33 p.m., a 26-year-old driver, while driving a VAZ-2111, opposite light pole No. 36 on Lenin Avenue, struck a 26-year-old man who was conducting road work, as well as a parked GAZ truck. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was taken to a medical facility,» the accident report states.
At the scene, the front of the VAZ-2111 is heavily deformed, and the windshield is shattered — a characteristic dent indicates a head impact. Beside the wrecked car, a stand with warning signs about road work is set up.
The Volgograd Oblast Health Committee reported that the injured worker has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Fischer Hospital. Medical workers assess his condition as stable.
