Kuban Resident Convicted of Slander Against Animator's Wife

A Kuban resident was sentenced for falsely accusing the murdered animator«s wife of organizing his murder.

In Kuban, Andrei Izvekov was convicted for a comment he made in July 2025 on a Telegram channel regarding the high-profile murder trial of animators. He claimed that Daria Chubko, wife of murdered animator Kirill, organized the murder herself.
As a result, Izvekov ended up in the dock on a slander charge. Initially the Oktyabrsky District Court, and later the Krasnodar Regional Court, found Izvekov guilty under Part 5 of Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (slander).
In court, the man stated he was ready to apologize to Daria Chubko and asked not to be isolated from society, as he has three children. The court ultimately sentenced him to 18 months of forced labor with 10% of his salary deducted to the state. The sentence has entered into force.
Recall that simultaneously, the Krasnodar Regional Court continues to hear the case of the murder of animators Kirill Chubko and Tatyana Mostyko. The jury has already delivered its verdict — Demyan Kevorkyan, Aram Tatosyan, and Anatoly Dvoynikov were found not deserving of leniency. Hearings continue, and a final sentence will be handed down soon.
