Knife-wielding man breaks into Buguruslan kindergarten

In Buguruslan, Orenburg Oblast, an incident occurred: a man with a knife broke into a kindergarten.

As city head Dmitry Dyachenko said, the attacker broke down a door, but teacher Liya Galeeva stood in his way. Despite the panic button already being pressed, the woman managed to hold the intruder until emergency services arrived — a tragedy was averted.

«I thank everyone for their quick reaction and mutual assistance. The situation is under control. All emergency response services acted in a coordinated manner,» Dyachenko wrote on his Telegram channel.

It should be noted that law enforcement agencies have not commented on the incident yet, and the government press service stated that Governor Yevgeny Solntsev has taken the situation under his personal control.

According to information from open sources, 41-year-old Liya Galeeva works at MBDOU «Kindergarten for Supervision and Health Improvement No. 1» in Buguruslan. As soon as any more information becomes known, we will publish it separately.

Two criminal cases have been opened immediately after the attack on the kindergarten — Alexander Bastrykin demands a report. The teacher was injured, and the attacker was drunk or under the influence of substances. The police released video of the suspect«s arrest. SHOT reports that he may be the son of the »best tax inspector.«

Yevgeny Solntsev spoke by phone with Liya Galeeva — she will be awarded (including a departmental award from the Russian Investigative Committee, and the State Duma is requesting that she also be recognized by the Russian Ministry of Education).
