Husband recounts wife killed in drone attack
Holidays in Arkhipo-Osipovka were a tradition in Nadezhda«s family
The attack on Arkhipo-Osipovka on 3 August involved drones, as previously reported. Yanina Skorikova, deputy head of Gelendzhik, said that during the explosion, pebbles flew through the air and injured people, with victims loaded into ambulances straight from their sun loungers. The tragedy claimed the lives of seven people, four of them children.
«None of us had time to do anything»
One of the victims was Nadezhda Mazanik, a nurse from Lomonosov (Saint Petersburg). Nadezhda«s husband, Mikhail, told kuban.aif.ru that they had come to the sea with friends. Holidays on the Black Sea coast were a family tradition, where they celebrated Nadezhda»s birthday.
According to Mikhail, when they went to the sea that day, he and his wife had barely time to swim. At that moment, he saw a drone.
«We had barely dipped into the sea — I only managed to dive and surface — when I looked and saw a drone. There were several of them, and the second one swooped sharply onto the beach. None of us had time to do anything. I immediately ran to look for my family. I found my Nadya and saw that the back of her head was pierced,» Mikhail said.
The family«s friend Irina, who was with them on the beach that day, also suffered severe injuries. She is currently in a serious condition in a hospital in Krasnodar.
On social media, the clinic where Nadezhda worked said that the woman had given massages in the children«s department for many years. The post gathered hundreds of comments — locals remember her as a cheerful and kind person.
«A wonderful woman! We went for massages with both our younger and older daughters. She showed photos of how the family holidayed in 2024. I just can«t believe it! She was always positive and cheerful. Rest in peace,» wrote a resident of Lomonosov.
