In July 2025, a terrible event occurred in the life of 16-year-old Viktoriya Martyn. A fire broke out in the house in the village of Popovka, Azyovsky District, where the girl, her younger sister, and little brother were. The rooms quickly filled with smoke.

The story could have ended tragically, but Vika didn«t panic and led the children out of the fire through a window. The house burned down completely, but everyone survived. The young Omsk girl was awarded the »For Courage« medal after the incident. However, the girl herself does not consider herself a hero. She says she simply fulfilled her duty to her parents.

Now the Martyn family has almost completely rebuilt a new house. Her parents are doing renovations and are happy they managed to move in before the cold weather. Vika has entered a college in Omsk, so she doesn«t see her relatives often. She admits that she especially misses her younger brother, who is only 4 years old.
