Holy Trinity Church rector dies in Irkutsk crash

Archpriest Vyacheslav Pushkarev, rector of the Holy Trinity Church in Khomutovo (Irkutsk Oblast), died in a car crash at the age of 59 on the evening of July 20. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Irkutsk Diocese.

«Dear brothers and sisters, we regretfully inform you that this evening, July 20, Archpriest Vyacheslav Pushkarev, rector of the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Khomutovo, died in a car accident in his 60th year. We ask for prayers for the repose of the newly departed Archpriest Vyacheslav,» — the statement said.

Recall that on the evening of July 20, a bus with 25 tourists collided with an SUV on the Baikal Highway near Listvyanka. The 59-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV died.

The bus, a Chinese-made Yutong, was carrying 25 tourists. Several of them called an ambulance after the accident. They were examined at a hospital and their injuries were recorded.
