Head-on crash on Orenburg highway leaves two dead, two injured
A serious head-on collision on an Orenburg highway has resulted in fatalities and injuries.
Another fatal traffic accident occurred in Orenburg Oblast. This time, according to the press service of the regional police department, it happened at the 5th kilometer of the Ilek–Tashla–Sobolevo highway in the Ilek district.
According to preliminary data, a 33-year-old driver of a Renault Megane, traveling from Ilek towards the village of Yaman, lost control, veered into the oncoming lane, and collided head-on with a VAZ-21101 moving in the opposite direction.
After the powerful impact, the domestic car was reduced to a pile of metal. The accident claimed the lives of the 60-year-old driver of the VAZ-21101 and his 85-year-old passenger — they died before the medical team arrived. The driver of the Renault and her 42-year-old passenger were hospitalized with numerous injuries. Police are conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
