In Sochi, a child was injured when fragments of a drone fell. A seven-year-old girl was hospitalized, and there is no threat to her life, the regional operational headquarters reported on July 21.
“There is no threat to her life. Fragments of the drone fell on the grounds of a church in the Central District of Sochi. Operational and emergency services are working at the scene,” the headquarters said.
In the morning, a drone attack threat was active in the city. At 8:50 a.m., Sochi Mayor Andrei Proshunin reported that warning sirens had been activated. Later, at 10:28 a.m., he announced the cancellation of the drone threat.
No official information about other casualties or damage had been received as of the time of publication.
Update: Sochi Mayor Andrei Proshunin commented on the incident:
“Her life is not in danger, fortunately, the injury is light — a grazing wound to the leg. Everything happened on the grounds of a church in the Central District, where special and operational services are working.”
According to him, a parked car was also damaged in the Khostinsky District. There were no people inside.
“Overall, the city«s infrastructure is operating normally,” the mayor added.
