A derailment occurred in Tambov Oblast, where several tank cars of a freight train carrying gasoline left the tracks and exploded, causing a fire. As a result of the emergency, passenger trains heading south are being delayed.
The press service of Russian Railways (RZD) warned that most of these trains travel through Rostov.
Among the trains traveling through Rostov that are delayed:
- No. 3 «Kislovodsk – Moscow»
- No. 27 «Simferopol – Moscow»
- No. 35 «Adler – St. Petersburg»
- No. 37 «Imeretinsky Resort – Nizhny Novgorod»
- No. 101 «Adler – Moscow»
- No. 139 «Kislovodsk – Arkhangelsk»
- No. 266 «Moscow – Novorossiysk»
«We are considering the issue of routing trains along an alternative route bypassing the obstacle. Train crew members are providing comprehensive assistance and support to passengers. A comfortable temperature is maintained in the cars,» the company said.
