FSB Special Forces Eliminate Suspect in Ufa Terror Attack Plot — Video
Two foreign nationals are accused of planning to attack a police station in the city.
FSB special forces shot dead a foreigner suspected of plotting a terror attack in Ufa. The man responded to an offer to surrender with gunfire. Following this, security forces detained a second member of the alleged group, who admitted that an attack on a police station had been planned.
As TASS reports, citing the FSB Public Relations Center (Cenрtr for Public Relations, TsOS FSB), two natives of Central Asia were planning to carry out «jihad». When security forces came for the alleged leader of the gang, he started shooting and was ultimately shot dead by return fire.
The second suspect was detained on the street. In a conversation with FSB officers, he admitted that an attack on police officers in Ufa was being prepared.
«We were preparing a bomb for this, we wanted to blow up police officers. And when the officers come, we [should] shoot them with an assault rifle,» the detainee said.
The detainee is now facing charges of attempting to commit a terrorist act and participating in a terrorist organization.
