The mother of the found 13-year-old girl said where her child is now.
For over two days, hundreds of people searched for a 13-year-old girl in Moscow and the region. On the evening of 19 July 2026, the schoolgirl left home, telling her family she went to look for a lost ring. Then she disappeared without a trace.
The 13-year-old girl was found in Staraya Kupavna.
Only on the third day, 22 July, the search ended with long-awaited news: the teenager was found alive. As relatives told MSK1.RU, Vera«s life and health are not in danger.

«She Left for the First Time»
13-year-old Vera (name changed. — Editor«s note.) is from a close-knit large family. She lives with her mother and two younger brothers of preschool age in a village in the Moscow region. While the mother works night shifts, the grandmother comes to the children — she helps look after the grandchildren.
According to the grandmother, Vera is a caring older sister. She happily helps with her brothers, plays with them, and looks after the little ones. At school, the girl studies well; as relatives say, she never caused serious trouble — she didn«t conflict either at home or with others.
The mother admits that shortly before the disappearance, she noticed nothing that could have foreshadowed trouble. Her daughter didn«t argue with her, didn»t throw tantrums, and didn«t try to run away from home. The only thing that gradually became noticeable was that Vera increasingly withdrew into herself.
«She became more reserved. But she didn»t slam the door, leave the house, or lock herself in her room, as teenagers sometimes do. On the contrary, she seemed to go into herself. So when I was asked if she could have left home on her own, I answered: «She left for the first time.» And I really hope it«s the last,» the mother shares with a nervous smile in a conversation with MSK1.RU.
The last few days have become a real ordeal for Natalia. She learned that her daughter was missing right during a night shift. Since then, relatives admit, she has hardly slept. Together with volunteers and rescuers, the woman combed the area near the village, hoping to find Vera as soon as possible.
«She was constantly either at the headquarters, on the phone, or on the road. It was impossible to reach her at all. She came literally for a cup of coffee — and left again. We tried to feed her at least something, but she refused. She said: »I can«t eat while my child is not nearby.» We even started to worry about her — we feared, God forbid, something might happen,« Vera»s grandmother said about her daughter«s condition.
Natalia felt a bit better only after she managed to talk to Vera on the phone for the first time. This happened almost a day after the girl was found — in the afternoon of 23 July.
Where the Girl Is Now
13-year-old Vera was found in Staraya Kupavna, about 150 kilometers from home. Where the girl was all this time and what happened to her while hundreds of people searched for her across the Moscow region remains unknown. Natalia also says she doesn«t know the details of where her daughter was.
«This information is not given to us (meaning that investigators didn»t provide details. — Editor«s note.)» she answered briefly.
As Natalia told MSK1.RU, Vera is now in a rehabilitation center for teenagers. She will stay there as long as needed to recover psychologically and feel ready to return home.
«She is with other children who are undergoing rehabilitation and receiving psychological help. These are kids who found themselves in difficult life situations. She will stay there for now,» the girl«s mother shared.
According to Natalia, Vera currently has no access to a phone or the internet. She managed to contact her daughter only once — on 23 July, through the center«s staff. The conversation lasted only a few minutes but was very difficult for both.
«We talked very briefly; investigative actions are still ongoing. I quickly asked her: »Are you okay? How are you?« She said: »Yes, everything is fine.« And when I said: »We missed you so much. I just wanted to hear your voice,« she started crying,» Natalia said with a lump in her throat, barely holding back tears.
According to her, there are no bans on calls or meetings with Vera at the rehabilitation center. But Natalia explained that after the first phone conversation with her daughter, she realized that she is not yet ready for communication.
The mother is in no hurry to bring her daughter home. She feels calmer while Vera is under the supervision of specialists. During this time, she hopes that the hype in the media and social networks will subside and her daughter can return to her normal life.
«My main goal now is to rehabilitate the child after all this situation. And honestly, I want her to see as little of all this unnecessary information as possible. There are a lot of comments, publications, not the best articles. Let her stay in a calmer environment,» Natalia noted.
Where Is the Guy Found with Vera Now?
The 13-year-old girl was found 150 kilometers from home — in Staraya Kupavna — together with a 22-year-old young man whom, according to preliminary data, she met online. Vera«s mother admits she knows nothing about him.
«I have no information about this young man yet. I haven»t been summoned anywhere, so everything I know is only from the media. There is a lot of unverified information now, and I try to be cautious about it,« Natalia told.
When asked where the young man is now, the girl«s mother replied: »Honestly, I have no versions. The only thing I can assume is that if they were found together, then perhaps he was detained. But I don«t have reliable information.»
