Fire Near Tambov Delays Eight Trains

A fire on a main railway line in the Tambov Region has caused serious delays to Tavria route trains. According to carrier Grand Service Express, all affected trains are traveling through Rostov-on-Don, with delays of up to 7.5 hours.
Trains delayed heading to Crimea:
- No. 068 Moscow – Simferopol — delayed by 7.5 hours;
- No. 195 Moscow – Simferopol — delayed by 7 hours;
- No. 007 St. Petersburg – Sevastopol — delayed by 5 hours;
- No. 092 Moscow – Sevastopol — delayed by 5 hours.
Trains delayed from Crimea:
- No. 008 Sevastopol – St. Petersburg — delayed by 5 hours;
- No. 068 Simferopol – Moscow — delayed by 6 hours;
- No. 196 Simferopol – Moscow — delayed by 4.5 hours;
- No. 092 Sevastopol – Moscow — delayed by 7 hours.
The carrier company noted that delay times may be further adjusted. Train chiefs are informing passengers. If delays exceed four hours, travelers will be provided with water and food.
The incident occurred at 15:34 on 4 February. A freight train carrying fuel derailed, after which a fire engulfed 16 tank cars. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on violations of safety rules and railway transport operation.
