A conflict involving a knife occurred on January 19 at the private social institution «Mercy House», located in the Solyanoy settlement. According to information received by the editorial office, the incident involved two men in wheelchairs. As a result, one of them was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.
A reader of the publication described that both participants had amputated limbs. The cause of the quarrel, according to him, could have been a dispute over a television or other domestic disagreements.
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd Region confirmed the fact of the incident the next day. According to law enforcement agencies, the conflict arose between a 55-year-old and a 53-year-old man. The suspect, previously convicted, inflicted several knife wounds to the victim«s chest and abdomen.
A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of inflicting grievous bodily harm. A decision is being made on the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect.
The manager of the branch of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization «Mercy» (ANO «Mercy») Igor Sharashkin refused to give detailed comments, noting only that the information on social networks is exaggerated.
An inquiry about the current condition of the hospitalized man to the regional health committee yielded no results. A representative of the governor«s press service, Alena Strelina, referred to the fact that issues related to unlawful actions are under the jurisdiction of the police.
The committee for social protection of the population clarified that the incident occurred in an organization providing services to persons without a fixed place of residence. The situation has been taken under control by relevant authorities and law enforcement agencies.
