Traffic police in Tolyatti reported a fatal accident that occurred on the Tolyatti Bypass. A domestic car collided with road maintenance equipment — a snowplow was clearing the highway at the time.

The accident occurred on 21 January at around 10:05 at the 79th kilometer of the Tolyatti Bypass. According to preliminary information, the 23-year-old driver of a Lada Granta failed to maintain a safe distance and crashed into a Shakman truck. A 20-year-old passenger died at the scene. Another individual, born in 1971, was hospitalized with multiple injuries, the State Traffic Inspectorate reported.

Emergency services remained at the scene to investigate and clear the highway.
