Farewell for Teen Killed in Elektrostal Bus Altercation

In Elektrostal, Moscow Region, farewell has begun for 18-year-old Ilya, who was killed during a scuffle on a bus. Dozens of people with bouquets of red carnations gathered at the morgue building, including the guy«s college classmates, reports a correspondent for MSK1.RU. Many of them cannot hold back tears.

“He didn«t want me to cry. If he saw me in tears, he would start telling a joke,” said one of the girls.

Recall that the tragedy happened last Sunday, on the night of January 18. As reported by media, Ilya was riding with friends on a bus. Through the window, they saw a woman and began making indecent hand gestures at her. What exactly the youths reacted to is unknown. They accompanied their gestures with harsh words.

19-year-old Imomali Turdiev reacted to this, he approached the guys and made a remark to them. Word for word, a verbal conflict began between them, after which Imomali suggested going outside to talk there.

The guys got off the bus at the “Universam” stop in Elektrostal. After that, a fight broke out. The 19-year-old native of Tajikistan had pepper spray sprayed in his eyes, and then was also shot at with a flare gun.

In response, he took out a knife and stabbed one of the attackers several times. Turdiev remained on the street, and the bus drove away with the wounded Ilya. Already during the journey, the driver learned that one of the passengers was seriously injured.

They were unable to save the 18-year-old guy. He died in a medical facility from his injuries. The next day, information appeared about the detention of Imomali Turdiev. He has been charged with murder under Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code. The young man faces up to 15 years in prison.
