Emergency Ministry Details Gas Station Explosion in KhMAO

In the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO), details were revealed about a fire at a gas station in the Surgutsky district, where a fuel tanker caught fire and a powerful explosion occurred.

«On February 5 at 11:59, a report of a fuel tanker fire in the settlement of Solnechny on Stroiteley Street was received by the dispatcher of the Unified Duty Dispatch Service (EDDS) of the Surgut garrison. The first unit arrived within three minutes, and the truck was observed to be burning,» the press service stated.

The press service added that the fire was localized at 12:25 over an area of 150 square meters, and the open flames were extinguished at 12:41. A total of 5 pieces of equipment and 20 personnel from the Russian EMERCOM were involved in extinguishing the fire. The cause of the fire is being determined by investigative authorities.

Two people were injured in the incident. According to the Telegram channel Shot, the blast wave threw them several meters. The injured were taken to a medical facility.
