Dump Truck with Raised Bed Hits Heating Main
The heating main knocked down by the dump truck was not operational.
The year has just begun, and Nizhny Novgorod has already seen an accident that could claim the title of the silliest. Last Monday, February 2, a dump truck knocked down pipes near Chkalov Airport. The moment of the crash was captured on video and appeared online today.
A video showing the dump truck accident was posted on social media.
The published footage shows the truck was driving with its dump body raised. It didn«t clear the height, struck the heating main, and the structure collapsed onto it. As a result, a large traffic jam formed on Bezvodnaya Street.
As explained by the airport«s press service, the truck was hauling snow from the airport grounds. The pipes it knocked down turned out to be inactive. The utilities serving the airport and nearby homes were not damaged.
Earlier, we reported about a car that caught fire while driving on Beketova Street. Drivers could not put out the fire themselves, and firefighters arrived.
And in November, an accident involving a BMW occurred on Larina Street. The car knocked down a pole that completely blocked one lane heading out of the city.
