On Monday, February 2, an accident involving a dump truck occurred near Chkalov Airport in Nizhny Novgorod. The moment of the incident was captured on video, which later appeared online.
The dump truck was removing snow from the airport territory when the accident occurred.
The published footage shows the truck driving with its dump bed raised. Not accounting for the height, it struck the heating main, causing the structure to collapse. This led to a significant traffic jam on Bezvodnaya Street.
According to the airport’s press service, the dump truck was removing snow from the territory. The damaged pipes were out of service, so the utilities supplying the airport and nearby houses were not affected.
Earlier, a car caught fire while moving on Beketova Street. Drivers were unable to extinguish the blaze themselves, and firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
Another incident occurred in November on Larina Street. There, a BMW car knocked down a pole, which completely blocked one lane heading out of the city.
