Drunk Driver Kills Pedestrian in Murmansk Region
On the evening of 20 July, a drunk driver crossed into oncoming traffic within a «No Overtaking» zone on the Pushnoy–Taibola road and fatally struck a pedestrian.

At the third kilometer of the Pushnoy–Taibola road, a pedestrian was fatally struck. This happened on the evening of 20 July.
A driver born in 1959, driving a Chevrolet Niva, entered the oncoming lane in the zone of a «No Overtaking» sign. There he drove onto the shoulder and hit the pedestrian. The man, born in 1958, died at the scene before an ambulance arrived.
It turned out the driver was drunk: a test showed an alcohol level of 1.216 mg/L.
Earlier, on 19 July, a passenger minibus overturned on the Apatity–Kirovsk road, injuring several people. Bastrykin ordered a criminal case to be opened.
And near Kandalaksha, a fatal traffic accident occurred on 17 July.
