Dozens of emergency vehicles on scene of collapsed Novosibirsk mall

Today, 21 January, the roof of a shopping center at 26 Naumova Street in Novosibirsk collapsed — the building gave way under the weight of the structure, presumably due to a heavy accumulation of snow on the roof.

Emergency services, the Interior Ministry, the Investigative Committee, the prosecutor«s office, and other agencies have arrived at the scene. An investigation into the causes of the incident and compliance with building operation norms has been launched.

According to official data from the city administration and rescue services, two people were injured, and two more were pulled from the rubble. They are now receiving medical assistance.

As a result of the partial collapse, parked cars nearby were damaged.
