Dome collapses at Nizhny Novgorod Aeration Station
On Wednesday, February 4, the dome of a settling tank collapsed at the Nizhny Novgorod Aeration Station. The accident occurred during commissioning work, according to the United Municipal Operator (OKO).
According to the organization, the cover of the averaging regulator on the primary settling tank was damaged. Now the contractor Roskapstroy is inspecting the collapsed structure to then carry out repairs.
«The station is operating normally, and the commissioning work is also continuing as scheduled,» emphasized OKO.
Let us add that the contract for the reconstruction of the Nizhny Novgorod Aeration Station was signed in 2022. The preliminary cost of the first stage is 7.3 billion rubles ($81,111,100 at current rates). It was completed in December of last year, and now testing of the updated equipment is underway there.
In the second stage, they plan to reconstruct 61 structures. The cost of the work could be 20.2 billion rubles ($224,444,400 at current rates), but the exact amount will be announced after state expert review. This phase is expected to start in 2026 and be completed by 2030.
