Dogs Maul Seven-Year-Old Girl in Trans-Ural Village

In the village of Sadovoe in Ketovsky District, dogs attacked a girl. This was reported by residents in one of the groups on the social network VKontakte.

“Four dogs were mauling a girl on Oktyabrskaya Street, in the private sector. They ran off towards the buildings. The dogs are large, one even has a collar. A large white one, a shepherd, and two smaller dark ones,” according to a post in the group “Ketovsky District — Unofficial”.

“Thank you so much for saving her. My daughter was under those dogs. Her leg was torn, we«re going to get it stitched up. The dogs were captured on video, running around in pairs,” wrote the child»s mother.

The administration of Ketovsky District responded to the emergency. According to them, the child was hospitalized in the regional children«s hospital named after the Red Cross.

“She is receiving necessary medical assistance, and there is no threat to her life. Law enforcement agencies are working on the fact of the dog attack on the child in the village of Sadovoe in Ketovsky District. If it is established that the dogs have owners who allowed them to roam uncontrolled, they will face legal responsibility. In case it is determined that these were stray animals, their capture will be organized with subsequent actions in accordance with the law,” according to a post in the district administration«s group on VKontakte.

In the same post, officials indicate that no appeals regarding stray animals and their capture have been received by them.

Update at 10:12. In the Trans-Ural region, a criminal case was initiated for negligence after a pack of dogs attacked a child in the village of Sadovoe. This was reported to a 45.RU correspondent by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Kurgan Region.
