"Didn't Realize His Actions": Ryazan Police Detain Man

Police in Ryazan detained a local resident who filmed the destruction of a Ukrainian drone and posted the video online, authorities said. The man recorded an apology video, acknowledging his mistake.

Police officers in the Ryazan Region identified and detained a resident of Ryazan who, according to law enforcement, was involved in publishing a video related to a drone attack on the region.
As reported by police, on 30 June 2026, the man filmed the moment a Ukrainian drone was destroyed, after which he posted the recording in a chat for a dacha cooperative. The man recorded an apology video, stating that he realized his mistake and urged residents of the Ryazan Region not to repeat it.
The department reminded that on the territory of the Ryazan Region there is a ban on publishing in the media and on the internet materials that allow identification of the type of drones, their launch sites, flight trajectory, attack locations, and targets hit.
It is also forbidden to disseminate information about the use and consequences of counter-UAV measures, including air defense and electronic warfare systems, as well as data on the locations of military facilities and critical infrastructure.
According to police, the man«s actions show signs of an administrative offense under Article 10.8 of the Ryazan Region Law on Administrative Offenses. The decision to hold him accountable will be made in accordance with the law.
