The day before, on the toll M-12 highway passing through the Ardatovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, a fatal traffic accident occurred. A 63-year-old driver of a multi-ton tanker truck, according to preliminary data, felt unwell while driving. Due to his deteriorating condition, he exceeded the speed limit and lost control, causing the truck to crash into a crash barrier.
Medics who arrived at the scene pronounced the driver dead. The cause was acute heart failure. They were unable to save the man.
Earlier, two other road incidents occurred in Nizhny Novgorod. On Osharskaya Street, a man parked his car without engaging the handbrake. The car rolled down a slope by itself, collided with a parked Skoda, and hit a pedestrian. In mid-July, on Butyrskaya Street, a passenger car collided with a regular bus. As a result of the accident, the car driver and one of the bus passengers sustained injuries.
