The parents blame the center«s administration. «There were no warning signs, instructor, or any employee monitoring safety in that place,» the boy»s mother said.
The head of the leisure center, Stanislav Berg, commenting on the situation, said that no formal complaints had been received from the family. He claims that safety is ensured on site: «We have a lot of warnings, large banners saying «Caution, track.» This is purely human inattention. We always have a person standing at the crossing.»
According to the center«s representative, on 1 February the track attendant was also present. Warning banners are indeed hanging on site, but visibility at the crossing remains limited: to see people coming down, you literally have to step onto the track itself.
After a request for comment, the administration of Russian Fun expressed willingness to contact the victim«s parents to discuss the situation.
