Car crashes under truck on M-7, driver killed

A fatal road accident occurred on the M-7 Volga highway in Yelabuga District: the driver of a passenger car died. The republic«s GAI (State Traffic Inspectorate) reported this.

The incident happened at night, at 1:20 AM. Preliminary information indicates that the driver of a Toyota failed to maintain a safe speed and crashed into a truck ahead that was loaded with large metal pipes. The driver of the passenger car died at the scene. Other circumstances of the accident are being determined.

Judging by the photo, the Toyota«s front end was severely damaged: the hood, windshield, and roof. Two airbags deployed inside the cabin. Officers from the GAI and the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) worked at the scene.

Recently, in Mamadysh District on the Moscow-Ufa highway, a driver of a Renault lost control and at speed crashed into the semi-trailer of a fuel tanker. The driver of the special vehicle was standing on the roadside. As a result, a two-month-old baby girl died.
