Blogger recounts friend's death in Moscow flat
The blogger could barely hold back tears as he described the events of that day
Ural blogger Mikhail Zhuykov, known as Misha Zhuk, who several years ago was one of Yekaterinburg«s most popular and scandalous pranksters, has for the first time revealed details of a carbon monoxide poisoning. That day he went to sleep and woke up only a week later — no longer at home, but in a hospital. On his YouTube channel, he told what happened on the day his life split into before and after.
The young man breathed carbon monoxide for half a day
At the time, Misha was living between two cities: Yekaterinburg and Moscow. In the capital, he was staying in a flat with two of his friends. On 27 September 2022, the blogger fell ill and went to sleep after taking medicine. His close friend Maks decided to take a shower and turned on the gas water heater, which turned out to be faulty. A leak occurred that claimed a man«s life:

«I woke up seven days later a completely different person. I learned what happened then some time afterwards, and who and how saved me. At the time, Zyoma (the third friend who lived in the flat. — Editor«s note) had started a new job. During the day, before I fell asleep, I was talking to his mum. Several hours passed, and my mum noticed that I hadn»t been on my social media for a long time. She wrote to me and called me, but I didn«t pick up, because by then I was already unconscious. Then my girlfriend also couldn»t get through to me. She called Zyoma, and he said he couldn«t get through to me or Maks either.»
Zyoma had just started a new job at the time. In the video, he told how he came home in the evening and saw a horrifying scene.
«I take off my jacket, I say: ‘Lads, I«m home.» I walk in and see that Zhuk is lying in my room in convulsions, shaking, foam coming from his mouth, his pupils rolled back. My first thought was: ‘This is some kind of joke.« When I started lifting him up, I realised it wasn»t a joke. I started slapping his cheeks, he didn«t react at all,» Misha»s friend said.
Then the young man heard water running in the shower. He rushed to Maksim to ask for help, but it was already too late:
«The door is locked, I start knocking, eventually I break the lock. I run in and see naked Maksim, already pale. I«m in a state of shock, tears, snot, everything at once. I try to bring him round, I slap his cheeks with all my strength. He was already a corpse, cold, showing no signs of life. I run to Zhuk and call an ambulance at the same time. Within ten minutes they arrived. Zhuk was taken to intensive care, and Maks — to the morgue. The staff»s first thought was drugs.»
