A fire at a charity collection point on Kantemirovskaya Street destroyed humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and uniforms over an area of about 120 square meters. This was reported on 4 February by Vladimir Bakin, deputy director of the Dobrovolets Foundation, known by the call sign Ulfer.
At the time of the attack, employees and volunteers were inside the building. They managed to evacuate and detained the suspect before law enforcement arrived. According to Bakin, the woman was filming the incident on her phone and talking to someone.
The damaged collection point gathered humanitarian aid, including for hospitals and orphanages, as clarified by Dmitry Tereshenkov, head of the regional branch of the Union of Donbas Volunteers (Soyuz dobrovoltsev Donbassa) for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast. He noted that the aid was civilian in nature and that it was a miracle no one was hurt.
«It»s not about punishment... for these inhumans who did this. My opinion is that they should be sent to the special military operation (SVO) zone during the pretrial investigation,« Tereshenkov said.
The incident occurred on the evening of 4 February, when two Molotov cocktails were thrown into the building, causing a fire and smoke in St. Petersburg«s Lesnoy district.
Police and Rosgvardiya (the Russian National Guard) detained a 24-year-old woman, who was taken to a department for investigation. A criminal case was opened under the article on a terrorist act.
Law enforcement clarified that information about the suspect possessing dangerous objects was not confirmed. According to available data, the box she threatened to blow up contained a live dove.
