Police in St. Petersburg have opened a criminal case following an arson at a humanitarian aid collection point. A 24-year-old woman has been charged with a terrorist act.

Police together with Rosgvardia officers detained a 24-year-old woman on the evening of February 4 on Kantemirovskaya Street in St. Petersburg. She is suspected of setting fire to a collection point for humanitarian aid for participants of the special military operation using Molotov cocktails.
A criminal case has been opened under the article on terrorism. Initial information that the detainee had explosives was not confirmed.
According to available information, the detainee is a native of Vologda. At the time of the incident, she was talking on the phone, which suggests she was following someone else«s orders. It is reported that the box she threatened to blow up contained a live pigeon.
The fire resulting from the arson covered about 30 square meters in the basement of a residential building. The fire was fully extinguished by eight in the evening, with no casualties. The detainee was taken to the police station for further investigation.
