A road traffic accident involving an ambulance occurred in the Krasnogvardeysk District of St. Petersburg. According to preliminary information, at the time of the crash, the medics were transporting victims of another accident to a hospital.
Another ambulance crew arrived to take the patients to the hospital.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of 4 February at the intersection of Malookhtinsky Prospekt and Tallinskaya Street. According to the press service of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (UGIBDD) for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, the ambulance driver made a turn on a red light, resulting in a collision with another vehicle.
As a result of the crash, two women who worked as paramedics sustained injuries. Inside the ambulance at the time of the accident were a mother and child — patients being taken to a medical facility after a previous road accident. After the collision, another ambulance crew picked them up and took them to the hospital.
