A probe has been launched in the Ryazan Region following a publication by YA62.RU about the death of a resident of the village of Shelukhovo, whom an ambulance could not reach for nearly an hour due to snow-covered roads. The woman«s relative, Aleksandr, told our reporter that representatives of the prosecutor»s office had contacted him.

The probe was confirmed to YA62.RU by the press service of the Ryazan Region Prosecutor«s Office.

«An inspection has been organized in the sphere of road safety, and the progress and results of the procedural check conducted by the Kasimovsky MSO are being monitored,» the press service said.

MSO — Interdistrict Investigation Department.

The tragedy occurred on the night of 27 January 2026. The ambulance spent about 50 minutes looking for a cleared road to respond to an emergency call for a woman having a heart attack; she died before the medics arrived.

According to Aleksandr, the ambulance could not get through because the fire road, which is cleared of snow and used by locals, seemingly does not exist on maps. The navigator directs drivers along another road that has not been cleared in more than three years.

The administration of Shilovsky District merely expressed condolences and said that due to heavy snowfalls, utility workers are «working around the clock.»
