Alpinist Detained for Attack on Ambulance Driver

Law enforcement agencies in St. Petersburg have detained a 34-year-old industrial alpinist on suspicion of beating an ambulance driver. The conflict that led to the attack occurred on Lenin Avenue in the Krasnoselsky District.

Operatives from the criminal investigation department detained the man on the evening of January 20 at 76 Lenin Avenue. The search for the suspect, which lasted two days, concluded around 9:30 p.m.
According to the investigation, the incident occurred on the night of January 19. The detained man got into a verbal altercation with the ambulance driver, which escalated into physical violence. As a result, the driver sustained bruises and was forced to seek medical attention.
A criminal case has been initiated against the industrial alpinist under the article for hooliganism. As reported by the police, the man already has a prior conviction for battery and infliction of grievous bodily harm.
