Yekaterinburg Waste Removal Tariff Rises, with Further Increase After Elections

The waste removal tariff in Yekaterinburg has been raised, and it is set to increase again after the State Duma elections.

In Yekaterinburg, the waste removal tariff has been raised. The last time the cost of this service was increased was on 1 July 2025, when Ural residents paid 776 rubles 86 kopecks per cubic meter of waste (approximately $8 at current rates).
The Sverdlovsk Regional Energy Commission (REC) has made changes and published a resolution with new rates. From 1 January 2026, for the removal of a cubic meter of waste, one must pay 789 rubles 80 kopecks (including VAT, approximately $8 at current rates). In total, the service has become more expensive by 12 rubles 94 kopecks (about $0.13 at current rates).
Moreover, the tariff will be raised again after the State Duma elections. From 1 October to 31 December 2026, the fee for waste removal will increase to 867 rubles 49 kopecks (approximately $9 at current rates). The service will become more expensive by 77 rubles 69 kopecks at once (recall, this is the price per cubic meter, about $0.78 at current rates).
The press service of the company «Spetsavtobaza» has not yet commented on the changes.
Yekaterinburg residents, who received the first bills in 2026, were shocked by the amounts in the payment slips.
