In Yekaterinburg, there has been an increase in the tariff for solid municipal waste removal. The decision was made by the Sverdlovsk Regional Energy Commission, which published the corresponding resolution.
From January 1, 2026, the fee per cubic meter of waste is 789 rubles 80 kopecks (approximately $9 at current rates), including VAT. Compared to the previous tariff, which was in effect from July 1, 2025, and amounted to 776 rubles 86 kopecks (approximately $9 at current rates), the increase is 12 rubles 94 kopecks (approximately $0 at current rates).
A further increase in the cost of the service is expected after the State Duma elections. From October 1 to December 31, 2026, the tariff will rise to 867 rubles 49 kopecks per cubic meter (approximately $10 at current rates), which is 77 rubles 69 kopecks (approximately $1 at current rates) more than the January rate.
The press service of the company «Spetsavtobaza», which handles waste removal, did not provide comments on the changes. The first receipts of 2026 with the new amounts surprised city residents.
