Vodokanal Blames Management for La Grande Flood

Gorvodokanal employees helped pump out water from the parking lot after the flooding.
The pipe that caused the flooding of the two-level parking lot at the La Grande business-class residential complex is the responsibility of the building«s management company. This was reported to NGS.RU by the press service of MUP Gorvodokanal (the municipal water utility).
The leak was identified on a water pipe with a diameter of 225 millimeters, the company said. The pipe is located in the building«s basement, meaning the complex»s management company is responsible for it.
“Specialists from MUP Gorvodokanal assisted in isolating the emergency by shutting off the cold water supply to the apartment building from the centralized water supply network,” the company«s press service said.
The utility accident at the La Grande building on 1905 Goda Street, 73, occurred on January 28. Dozens of cars were submerged. During discussions with management company representatives at the scene, a version emerged that the network belongs to Gorvodokanal and the rupture occurred because water was let into an inoperative pipe. NGS.RU«s written request to the management company Dom, which services the complex, went unanswered.
