In Tyumen, management companies are distributing warnings about the unsatisfactory quality of tap water. Residents are urged not to use it for drinking, cooking, or personal hygiene, and to opt for bottled water.
«Please note: at present, water quality has deteriorated not only in our residential complex but also in several areas of the city. Do not use the water for drinking or cooking until an official notice of normalization is received. For personal hygiene, use bottled water if possible. If sediment, odor, or turbidity is present, stop using tap water and keep a sample for possible testing.»
Such notifications were received by residents of high-rise buildings on Polevaya Street (DOK district) and Protazanova Street (Tyumenskaya Sloboda).
For several days, residents have been complaining about an unpleasant smell from the tap. At «Rosvodokanal» (the water utility), they explained that water quality deteriorated due to the summer flood and a critical drop in oxygen levels in the river. Earlier, specialists from Rospotrebnadzor (the consumer rights watchdog) recommended boiling drinking water.
At the same time, the agency stated that the water meets sanitary standards.
