Yaroslavl resident decries cockroaches and decay in hospital

A Yaroslavl resident has appealed to the public with a complaint about unacceptable conditions in the therapeutic department of Hospital No. 9. She posted photos on social media from the ward where her mother is staying.

In her post, the woman asks:

When, finally, will the departments of Hospital No. 9 on Tutayevskoye Highway, 31 be brought into normal human condition?

She described the setting in detail:

The furniture is old, rusty, all the bedside tables are falling apart, the walls are dirty and shabby, there«s only one socket in the entire ward — and it»s falling out, cockroaches are walking in crowds on the bedside tables. Tell me, how are people supposed to recover in such conditions?

The regional Ministry of Health provided a comment on the situation:

A request has been submitted to the design institute for the preparation of design and estimate documentation for the repair of the therapeutic department. Then the design and estimate documentation (PSD) will be sent to the State Autonomous Institution of Yaroslavl Region Yargosstroiekspertiza for verification. After receiving a positive decision from the expert examination, the procedure for purchasing services for the major repair of the department will be carried out.

This is not the first case of criticism of conditions in this medical institution. Previously, patients published videos from the surgical department, where dirt on the floor and walls was filmed, as well as damaged mattresses. The hospital administration at that time reported on regularly conducted repair work.
