The first women in labor have had a chance to evaluate the new maternity hospital in Almetyevsk, which opened in December. However, positive reviews are almost impossible to find — likely because pregnant women have not yet written them. For now, we look at what they ask to be improved, leaving reviews on a mapping app.

A user on 2GIS complains about the inability to contact the maternity ward by phone.

The complaints mainly focus on the lack of comfortable conditions — staff attitude, long waits for appointments, a small cloakroom, and a lack of personal hygiene items in the restroom.

To be more specific, some people cannot get through to the center by phone, while others cannot get in at all.

A 2GIS review criticizes the lengthy registration process and long wait times.

«None of the contact numbers work. No one answers the phone. A woman in labor suffers for a whole day and no one cares. Make it possible to contact the maternity ward at any time, including weekends,» wrote a commenter.

They are also unhappy with the queues. Several expectant and new mothers spoke out on this topic.
«Why, after receiving stitches after childbirth, can«t a woman be immediately given a referral to a surgeon for examination/removal of stitches? A recent mother who is breastfeeding has to wait in pain while the district doctor completes a medical check-up, get a referral to a surgeon and for an ultrasound, and only then go to the specialists, only to return to the district doctor. P.S.: On 28 January 2026 at Sector 7, we waited over an hour for a doctor starting at 10:40, despite no queue — the doctor was doing a medical check-up. Very weak quests, please add more,» wrote a man.
«There is no toilet paper, the buffet is not open, the chairs are uncomfortable and there are catastrophically few of them. I was in the queue for 4 hours — two examination rooms with three chairs. At a late stage of pregnancy, it is very hard to stand; we took turns sitting with other women,» wrote a future mother.
«You make an appointment for a specific time, but then sit in line for hours! On top of that, there is no ultrasound. Why do we even go to a free clinic if we have to go and pay other clinics separately for basic things that should be provided?» asked a resident.
The reviews also include complaints about the infrastructure.
«The parking lot is closed, so what is the point of it? In the blood collection room, there are six employees, but only one takes blood — why are the others sitting there?» asks a man.
«Getting registered is a whole ordeal. It«s a complete shambles — queues everywhere. When you come by appointment, you wait two hours. The registration desk doesn»t work after 5 PM, you can«t get through by phone. With such organization, you could appoint a cat as head doctor — it would do just as well,» added a resident.
It is worth noting that separately, women listed the beauty of the new building and polite staff as a plus for the hospital.
«On the plus side — a large, spacious, beautiful perinatal center, and the staff (at least with me) were polite,» noted one patient.
The maternity hospital opened on 18 December, and officially on 22. Earlier, a pregnant interviewee of 116.RU said that the old maternity hospital on Lermontov Street was closed on 5 December, and pregnant women were sent to Nizhnekamsk. At that time, the new hospital had not yet opened, and the old one in Almetyevsk was only receiving «super emergency» patients.
