Volgograd Woman Loses Baby and Fertility After Surgery
A former prosecutor employee from a Volgograd village barely survived a severe operation that took her unborn daughter’s life and left her unable to have more children, and she now believes the investigation into the tragedy is being deliberately delayed.

Former prosecutor employee Lyubov Merkulova lives in a small village in the Volgograd region. Nearly three years ago, she miraculously survived a very severe operation, but her unborn daughter literally drowned due to internal bleeding. The woman herself could have not been saved either. «Thank God the department head was on duty; we usually don’t save people like you,» she was told in the ICU. The 37-year-old Lyubov will never be able to give birth again after that operation. Read more.

«The child died, but I myself saw that it was already swimming in blood. It was separated from all that. That is, a total placental abruption occurred,» said Lyubov Merkulova. «They forced me to walk up to the third floor on foot. The department head, whom I know, only shouted: «Why not on a gurney?! She has placental abruption.» The doctors told me it was a miracle that I survived such a situation. Well, let’s just say, almost all my blood came out. So I really came back from the other world. [In the documents] there is a note that on May 17 there were no pathologies. I wasn’t even at a check-up on May 17, how can that date appear in the conclusion?»
