A three-year-old boy in Yessentuki was hospitalized after swallowing more than 25 stones.
An unusual incident occurred in Yessentuki (Stavropol Krai, Russia): a three-year-old boy was brought to the city clinical hospital with complaints of severe pain and abdominal bloating.
As reported by the medical facility, a pediatric surgeon ordered an X-ray, and in the image, doctors saw something no one expected: dozens of small foreign bodies were located in the projection of the colon. It was later discovered that the child had swallowed more than 25 stones. The boy«s parents could not explain when exactly this happened. Medical staff suggest that the toddler might have done this during a walk or while playing outside.
Doctors prescribed a course of cleansing and anti-inflammatory therapy and monitored the child«s condition for five days.
