The Sovetsky District Court of Ryazan partially satisfied the lawsuit of city resident Yekaterina Petrunina against LLC «Regional Dental Center Dentaluks». The decision appeared on the court«s website. The reason for the proceedings was poor-quality treatment, which ultimately led to tooth extraction and expensive prosthetics.

As established by the court, in June 2020, the woman had a standard filling placed at the clinic. After treatment, the patient experienced complications, and subsequent examinations at other medical institutions revealed serious defects: a foreign object in the tooth root, perforation, and an untreated canal. In 2021, the parties had already settled part of the claims by concluding a settlement agreement, under which the clinic paid compensation to the patient.

However, in 2024, Petrunina had to have the tooth extracted and an implant placed. The total cost amounted to 71,735 rubles (approximately $717 at current rates). The woman considered these expenses a direct consequence of poor-quality treatment and again went to court, also demanding a penalty, compensation for moral damages, and interest for the use of other people«s funds.

The clinic«s representative did not admit the claim, citing, among other things, the expiration of the statute of limitations. However, the court pointed out that the disputed expenses were incurred by the plaintiff in 2024, so there are no grounds for refusal on this basis. The defendant did not provide evidence of absence of guilt, and the parties refused to conduct a forensic examination.

As a result, the court recovered from LLC «Dentaluks»:

  • 71,735 rubles (approximately $717) in damages,
  • 4,280 rubles (approximately $43) in penalty,
  • 10,000 rubles (approximately $100) in compensation for moral damages,
  • 10,348.80 rubles (approximately $103) in costs for legal representation.

In addition, a state fee of 2,780.45 rubles (approximately $28) was recovered from the clinic to the budget.
