Ryazan reports 22% weekly increase in respiratory illnesses during frost

In the Ryazan region, 6,013 people fell ill with ARVI and flu last week. The number of patients increased by 22.2% compared to seven days ago, according to the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing).
‘In the structure of circulating viruses, both influenza and other respiratory viruses stand out,’ added the Ryazan office.
The number of Ryazan residents diagnosed with COVID-19 has increased — 8 patients, compared to three last week.
The majority of those who fell ill (72.1% of all patients) are residents of Ryazan.
Residents of the Ryazan region are asked to observe ‘respiratory etiquette’ during the rise in illness. Sneeze and cough into the crook of your elbow or a tissue, wash your hands with soap or use hand sanitizer, wear a mask in crowded places, and at the first signs of illness, stay home.
