Russian Woman's Body Filled with Silicone After Implant Burst

Russian surgeons are trying to save a woman who, after a failed breast augmentation, ended up literally stuffed with silicone. Several years ago, the implant ruptured, and pieces of the material spread throughout her body.

The victim of the plastic surgery was featured in a new episode of «What Have I Done?» on the Friday TV channel.

Inna Ryabukha from Krasnodar had her breasts enlarged ten years ago. She was satisfied with the result. But a couple of years ago, the woman noticed that her lymph nodes were enlarged. Inna was frightened because, by description, it all looked like oncology, and at an advanced stage. She turned to doctors, who subsequently performed an ultrasound on her. Their verdict initially reassured the patient: it was definitely not a cancerous disease.

“The ultrasound technician said I had a silicone leak. I was living abroad, so they could see it. It turned out the capsule had torn and I urgently needed surgery. I still remember how the technician was in shock, looking at me. And I was so happy, I told him: «What happiness, thank you for such good news.» That is, I thought it was all nonsense, the main thing is not cancer,” Inna Ryabukha recounts on the show.

The woman returned to Russia and had a new operation. They were supposed to «clean out» all the tissues of silicone, but instead, inexperienced surgeons simply replaced the implants.

As a result, not only did her lymph nodes not decrease, but she also developed an obsessive cough. Inna was scared, thinking that the foreign doctors had messed up and she actually had cancer. Then the woman turned to an academician of sciences, who also confirmed to her that such breast problems could lead to this disease.
In the conclusion, doctors noted: “silicone in the lymph nodes.” This is a rarest case of complications.
Then she went under the surgeon«s knife again, but this time for complete removal of the lymph nodes.
Inna«s condition only worsened. She developed a severe headache, ringing in the ears, burning in the back of the head. And all the doctors the woman saw were sure that it was all psychosomatic. But she herself felt: something was happening with her body.
This thought gave her no peace, so Inna started reading a lot of medical literature and found out that removing the lymph nodes was a fatal mistake. After all, the lymph nodes were a defense that held back the silicone. The medics removed this «barrier,» and the material rushed into the blood.
The woman began to experience intoxication. She barely found a surgeon in Moscow who believed the diagnosis and agreed to remove her breast. But by this time, pieces of silicone could already be felt on her neck, abdomen, and other parts of the body.
Pieces of the ruptured implant pricked from inside, the woman could literally count them. At some point, she even started marking them with crosses to return to surgeons with requests to remove them.
“There are very many pieces. It«s like being poked with a thin knife in the body. I had a cry from the soul. I could no longer endure it. The doctor took silicone out of me every week — piece by piece,” Inna says.
Now the woman«s entire body is covered in scars. But silicone is still in her organism.
“It (silicone — Ed.) will kill me. But not immediately. I will have to endure and suffer every day,” Inna shared her emotions right after the operation.
Plastic surgeon David Pogosyan admitted that this is the first such case in his practice, although he has operated on thousands of women with various complications after breast augmentation.
“I am encountering such a case for the first time. And I sincerely do not believe that the implant itself — without manufacturing defects, without installation violations, without usage violations — just up and ruptured,” the doctor says.
The surgeon suggested that the implant was defective from the start.
“Girls thoughtlessly get breast implants, thinking it«s beautiful. But look what it led me to: living on pills, half-disabled. And this is only the beginning. The most terrible thing is that there is a child, and I myself shortened my days of life. Because of my stupidity, my child suffered,” Inna Ryabukha says with tears in her eyes.
Inna is trying to move on. Now, while some girls go for manicures, she, together with ultrasound technicians, searches for new foci of silicone in her body. The woman has only one hope left — doctors from a Chinese clinic.
