Omsk Children's Hospital Elevators Fail, Lack Spare Parts

A resident of Omsk complained about non-working elevators at Children«s City Hospital No. 3. According to her, the equipment in the surgical wing broke down on Saturday, January 31. She left the message in the comments under one of the posts on Vitaly Khotsenko»s VKontakte page.

«The elevators in the surgical wing of Children«s City Hospital No. 3 have not been working since Saturday. How are people supposed to work and perform operations on children? No one is lifting a finger to fix them — there are no spare parts. How is that possible? We live in the 21st century, and they»ve let the hospital get into such a state.»

The Minister of Health of Omsk Region, Dmitry Markelov, responded to the complaint. He clarified that one of the elevators in the hospital had been started up. The others cannot be repaired due to a shortage of spare parts — they are purchased abroad.

«One elevator has been started. For repairing the remaining elevators, the hospital administration has prepared a request to purchase the necessary spare parts. Unfortunately, since the equipment is of foreign manufacture, it is not possible to specify exactly the delivery time for the spare parts.»
