Nadezhda Kiryukhina Appointed Head of Ryazan Regional Clinical Hospital

Nadezhda Kiryukhina has been appointed as the chief physician of the Ryazan Regional Clinical Hospital. She will replace the former head, Oleg Shalayev, who is now in a pre-trial detention center on suspicion of several episodes of bribery. The personnel changes in the regional Ministry of Health were reported on February 2.
Nadezhda Kiryukhina has worked in neurology and management for over 20 years. She coordinates the work of all vascular centers in the Ryazan region and is listed as the chief neurologist in the region.
In recent years, she worked as the deputy chief physician of the Regional Clinical Hospital.
The Regional Clinical Hospital (RCH) is the regional clinical hospital.
«Her priority tasks will be the further development of high-tech medical care, the integration of modern treatment standards, and strengthening the status of the RCH as the leading medical and scientific-methodological center of the region,» the Ministry of Health stated.
The former chief physician of the Ryazan Regional Hospital has been in pre-trial detention since January 23. According to the investigation, Oleg Shalayev helped a familiar entrepreneur win tenders for the purchase of medical equipment by leaking information to him.
Investigators suspect Shalayev of three episodes of bribery. The total amount exceeds one million rubles (approximately $11,100 at current rates).
